China's sanitary ceramic exports exceeded 10.8 billion yuan in Q1

Apr. 27, 2021 - Customs data shows that in Q1 of 2021, the total value of China's trade in goods reached 8.47 trillion yuan, an increase of 29.2% over the same period last year. Among them, exports were 4.61 trillion yuan, an increase of 38.7%. Imports were 3.86 trillion yuan, an increase of 19.3%. The trade surplus was 759.29 billion yuan, an increase of 690.6%.

 

According to statistics, in Q1 of 2021, China’s export volume of sanitary ceramic products was 10.809 billion yuan, a year - on - year increase of 49.03%. Among them, the export value of Ceramic Sanitary Wares (69101000) was 10.754 billion yuan, and the export value of Other Ceramic Sanitary Wares (69109000) was 51 million yuan. In terms of sanitary ceramic imports, in Q1 of 2021, China imported 236 million yuan of sanitary ceramic products from 41 countries and regions, a year - on - year increase of 62.12%.

 

From the perspective of export markets, the“The Belt and Road” countries (including ASEAN), ASEAN, and the EU are the top three export markets for China's sanitary ware ceramics. The export value was 4.328 billion yuan, 2.106 billion yuan, and 1.48 billion yuan, with year - on - year growth of 19.11%, 19.12%, 78.10%, and 53.87% respectively. The United States is the fourth largest export market for sanitary ware ceramics, with an export value of 1.464 billion yuan, a year - on - year increase of 53.87%.

 

In Q1 of 2021, China's sanitary ware ceramic exports to ASEAN countries totaled 2.106 billion yuan, a year - on - year increase of 19.12%. The import value was 155 million yuan, an increase of 78.80% year - on - year. It is worth noting that the proportion of ASEAN countries in China's sanitary ware ceramic imports rose from 59.56% in the same period in 2020 to 65.69%.

 

Europe and the United States are China's traditional export markets. In Q1 of 2021, compared with the same period last year, China's sanitary ware ceramics exports to Europe and the United States have increased significantly, with growth rates of 78.10% and 53.87% respectively. This is the fact that Chinese sanitary ware companies are not separated from the traditional market, and it also shows that international demand has picked up.

 

In Q1 of 2021, China's sanitary ware ceramics maintained a good growth momentum. On the one hand, affected by the epidemic in 2020, the base of sanitary ware exports in the first quarter was low. On the other hand, the increase in overseas demand caused by the epidemic and the return of some overseas production orders have promoted China's sanitary ware exports.
